John Halkyard & Associates (JHA) provides concept design and analysis services for floating offshore facilities for oil & gas drilling & production, ocean mining and alternate energy projects.

John Halkyard has over 40 years experience in deep ocean system development, including deep ocean mining and floating production systems (FPS). He was one of the orginal architects for the very successful Spar concept for deepwater oil production.  Dr. Halkyard retired from industry in 2007 and has since formed JHA. He is also serving as Visiting Professor of Maritime Technology at the National University of Singapore,  under sponsorship of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. He is currently teaching masters level courses on floating structure design, moorings and risers at NUS, in addition to supervising research on offshore engineering projects.

The objective of JHA is to participate in the front end of interesting and challenging deepwater projects. The approach is to form a team of subcontractors and consultants suitable for each project who will work under Dr. Halkyard's direction.  The following partners are currently working with JHA on successful projects:
